School updates

A few quick pictures of school in action at the Morgan house.....

To finish up our study of Mars we made the Olympus Mons, or a replica of the biggest volcano on Mars. (Luke and Ben loved the name of the volcano since we just studied Mt. Olympus in our Greek study!)

Yes, our volcano actually erupted! :) This was a favorite experiment of course!

We also finished up our month long study of the cycle of the moon. Here is one of our last days with a full moon to view! Beautiful.

My wise Mother-In-Law mentioned the other day that we should teach children how to do things while they still have the desire to do them! Specifically, chores. While I try to be good about teaching our children responsibility, cooking is one area I struggle. To be honest, it is just way quicker for me to do it, then have all kinds of little hands trying to "help". I am making a more determined effort to teach my kids to help in the kitchen. Each child is getting some one-on-one time with Mommy in the kitchen these days. They get so excited, looking forward to their night cooking with Mommy.

Here is our homemade lyres, to help us remember the songs David wrote to God. These last few weeks in our TOG studies we have been studying the kings of Israel and the divided Kingdom.

Here we are hiding out in a cave singing songs! :)

Here are #3 and #4 busy with their school work too!

So cute! I just burst out laughing at the cave picture, with Jacob so intently "playing" his lyre! How creative and what fun memories. Thanks for the reminder to include the kids more in cooking...something I, also, just do to get done sometimes without thinking how much little hands would love to participate! Love you guys!
