We have had such a wonderful time celebrating our first Christmas as a family of four. Everyone keeps asking what the boys think about Santa....they don't know who he is, but anytime we are out and the boys see anything related to Christmas they both scream "Baby Jesus, Baby Jesus" it is so cute. Here is a montage of photos from our different Christmas celebrations this month. This morning it was just the four of us (and Miss Clara of course) and this evening we were able to enjoy the company of our neighbors for dinner. We hope and pray that you had a wonderful day celebrating the birth of our Savior too!

"Chris-Chris Lights!'

We are having such a fun visit with family in Virginia. Luke and Ben love Christmas lights and decorations. Grandma, Grandpa, Jeff and I almost need ear plugs when we are driving around at night because of the decibel level created in the car when the boys see Christmas lights. Of course, they can't say "Christmas lights" so Luke says "Pretty Chris-Chris Lights" instead. Last night we had a chance to go to a local park where every year they have a beautiful Christmas lights display. They boys loved it!

Gotta love boys!
So it is official, we have finished another semester. I say we, because Luke, Ben and I are going to school with Daddy too, it is a whole family affair! We are so proud of Daddy for finishing this semeseter that was a really difficult one, and now we call all take a deep breath and finally enjoy the season! Luke and Ben know Jeff's school so well that if we drive within a two mile radius Luke shouts out from the back seat, "Daddy, school!"
Anyway, while Jeff was finishing his paper up to turn in, the boys were playing. I had a bright idea that I would pull out my old Cabbage Patch dolls from the attic. Luke and Ben love babies, so I knew they would be an instant hit, with the hope that they would play quietly and give Jeff some time to work on his paper.
They LOVED them! At first they held the dolls, hugged them and cuddled with them, and generally played with them like I would have as a little girl. Jeff started laughing and I looked back and was hit by the realization that I am the mother of two very active little boys! Luke was caught with the play knife from their kitchen set trying to give one of the dolls a haircut and then he had one of the doll's with drawers down sitting on a toy saying "Mommy, baby go potty!" Gotta love life with boys!!! They are so much fun!

We are headed out today to celebrate and early Christmas with Jeff's family in Virginia! More updates later!

Fun in the Snow and Family Fun
We are now home safe in NC. Our normally 8.5 hour drive became almost 12.5, thanks to all the holiday traffic, rain and sleet we encountered! Yesterday was our last full day of visiting family. We started out our day introducing the boys, finally, to snow! They had seen it all week, but this was their first chance to play in it! Luke adored it from the first moment! He just lit up and was a pure joy to watch!

Ben on the other hand wanted nothing to do with it! I can't blame him because he was not able to walk in all his snow gear and he fell face forward in the snow the first two times he tried. He just cried when we tried to put him on the sled, so for the most part he just stayed with Mom or Grandma. He did like throwing snowballs at Daddy though!

After our snow adventures we headed over to Gram and Grandpas for lunch, and another visit. Luke and Ben got to discover what all Shirey grandkids find fun....Grandmas tuperware drawer!!

Luke just loves babies, he just can't keep his hands off of them. He was beyond overjoyed with his twin cousins, Adele and Hannah. The only problem was that he was kept very busy constantly worried about them losing their pacifiers, every time they would spit it out, he would patiently pick it up and offer it back!

After visiting and having fun, we had to say goodbyes. Luke and Ben love their grandparents!

After we said goodbye to Great-Grandpa and Great-Grandma, we headed over to visit our cousins Alex and Abby. Alex is four and Abby is one, and they have a wonderful play room. Luke and Ben had a blast. We are also so grateful to Jeff's cousins Mark and Andrea, because they always send us home with a bag of clothes that Alex has outgrown and they boys are soon to grow into!
After that visit we headed out to spend sometime with the Morgan side of the family. Luke and Ben had a blast playing with our cousins. These were the cousins we vacationed with in October, and the boys recognized them right away and had so much fun getting to play with them again. They helped try on some of their hunting gear as well!

Grandma introduced Luke to some Walmart adds with toys, Luke just kept saying, "WOW! WOW!" It was hillarious!

Luke and Ben had a chance to get to meet another Great-Grandma, this time on the Morgan side of the family!

So that is all for our PA holiday updates. Hope you enjoyed the pictures!

Another Busy Day
This morning we started out our day with another fun yummy breakfast from our hotel.

Then we discoverd that the jacuzzi in our room makes a nice play pen for the boys to play in while we are getting ready in the morning!

These are just a few cute pictures of the boys in their winter wear, they are just so huggable in their coats and hats!

Today was another day packed full of introducing the boys to more family. We headed out to visit Jeff's cousin Mandi and her husband Bill. It was fun getting to chat with them and meet their little dog Monty. An added bonus was that the boys were able to meet Lady, Bill and Mandi's horse! Ben was a bit scared so he stayed back with Mommy, but Luke and Daddy were able to pet her and feed her a treat!

Afterwards we went to Uncle Jerry and Aunt Debbie's house for a visit, and a much needed nap on one of their beds for the boys while we visited. In the evening we were able to spend some time with Pastor John and his wife Robbi, part of our Pennsylvania church family from Pine Creek. What a sweet time of fellowship, and what a blessing it is to know that we are still loved and prayed for by these precious friends and their church!
Now we are ready to crash, more family to meet and visit with tomorrow so we better get rest!

Thanksgiving Eve and Thanksgiving Day

Yesterday after naps we headed over to Grandma and Grandpa Shirey's house for dinner. Luke and Ben had a blast playing with all of the toys, and meeting some more of their PA family. They certainly do not run out of fun new faces to play with and give hugs too!

This morning we woke up very early and headed out so Jeff and Mer could go small game hunting with Uncle Chuck while Grandma and Grandpa Morgan played with Luke and Ben. Even though Luke and Ben are too little to hunt yet, they are not too young to wear hunting orange!
Jeff and Uncle Chuck were doing the hunting, Mer was only watching and giving moral support!
After awhile it was evident that no rabbits were going to come out to play today, so Jeff and Chuck decided to have fun shooting a few rounds of clay pigeons instead. Jeff tought me how to shoot as well, but after about three shots, I could feel every inch of my old shoulder injury, so I called it quits and decided just to watch instead!

Jeff and Mer also had a blast on Uncle Chuck's ATV, it was pretty cold, but very fun!

After our busy morning we headed back over to the Shirey's home for our family Thankgsiving meal.

After Turkey and the trimmings, the tryptophan got the best of the boys, and they took naps while we visited with family.

The boys had so much fun meeting so many new cousins! Great-Grandma and Grandpa Shirey have 12 great-grandchildren!! All were there except for Kaylin, Ian, and Nathan.

We also discovered that Luke and his cousin Ryan share the same birthday, May
23rd!

What a fun day we had with lots of laughs and tons of hugs and kisses!

Luke and Ben got to play with Grandma....

and Great-Grandma too!

Here is our four generation photo! Great-Grandma and Grandpa Shirey, Grandma and Grandpa Morgan, Jeff and Mer, and Luke and Ben! What a blessing family is!

We hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving! We are thankful for you, our family and friends who read this blog!!!

Safe and Sound
Just a quick post to let you know that we arrived safe and sound yesterday evening in PA. For most of our trip in PA we had snow, Luke and Ben just seem to be wide eyed soaking it all up not sure what to think about it all! The roads were rough in some parts, but Jeff did a wonderful job keeping us all safe. The boys slept for only a little bit, so don't be deceived by this picture, you can see how packed our car is!
We stopped in to check into our hotel first, then headed over to see Great-Grandma and Great-Grandpa Shirey. What a blessing it is to have Great-Grandparents
and Grandparents to enjoy!! It was a first meeting for the boys, and Grandma and Grandpas house had lots of toys to play with too! The boys love meeting new family!
This morning we had fun eating breakfast in our hotel room and getting ready to go outside in the cold to run some errands. Luke loved looking out at the snow from our window. Both boys were hilarrious when we put their big coats on and laid them on our bed, they could not even roll over, so cute!

Luke and Ben are now napping while Jeff studies and I catch up on some e-mails. We will try to update some more later!
