Towel Turbie Twins

So I am a huge fan of the "towel turbie." In case you don't know what that is, it is a small towel specially designed to tie up your hair when wet. A coworker of mine gave me my first turbie while we were waiting for our boys to come home from Ethiopia. She insisted that towel turbies were every new mother's best friend. I have found that it does come quite in handy when there is just not quite enough time to dry my hair after a shower. I can put up the hair with ease without having a heavy towel on my head, and come back later to finish up getting ready.

Anyway, Gracie thinks her Mommy is so funny when I have a turbie on. She was giggling like crazy at me the other day, so I decided to introduce her to the turbie herself! (She is much cuter than Mommy with a turbie on!)

Random Happenings

Here are just some pictures of random happenings around the Morgan household this week!

Gracie has discovered that she can sit at the picnic table with the boys to play and eat snacks and she LOVES it! What a big girl!

Playing in the "fort" under our table...

Discovering the tupperware cabinet....

Helping Mommy make Daddy's favorite muffins! (Cranberry)

Hope you have had a fun week! (P.S. Most of these pictures were from the later part of the week....since the Morgan household had a stomach bug during the first half! We are glad to be healthy again!!)

Bikes

We have finally had a week with a few warmer days....so out came the bikes! Here are a few pictures of our first time riding bikes outside. Much easier to ride than in a small circle in our family room!!

Quote of the day

Today we were at Costco. While in the checkout lane the cashier said hello to our three little ones. When she said "Hi" Ben replied with "Luke is four, I am three, we are not twins!" Can you tell they are used to this??? I don't think she had any idea what he said, but Jeff and I got a good chuckle out of it!!

And we are mobile!!!!

Okay, so we just posted recently about how Gracie was trying to take a few steps on her own. Well, she is now doing much more. She is getting pretty good at taking 5-6 steps, stopping, regaining balance and then walking some more. She gets thrown off her balance though because she stops to see if her brothers are watching and then she claps with them when they notice her activity and cheer her on. She is still quite wobbly, but we are having so much fun watching her learn!

30 weeks and counting.....

On Tuesday we hit the 30 week mark, 3 quarters of this pregnancy is over already!!!

I can hardly believe it. No, we are not ready yet, so he can stay in there for as long as he wants! It is just amazing to think about how much development has already happened in just 30 weeks! Keep growing sweet baby, your brothers and sister are anxiously awaiting your arrival!

A day in the life of Luke and Ben....

Since we are celebrating the every day events of our lives this week, we would like to share with you what our day is like! Gracie already told you about our play times together....so this will just be mostly about us!

In the morning we do "THE PLAN". Mommy says that other than asking her to marry him, the plan was Daddy's best idea ever! Prior to "the plan" we would make lots of noise in the morning trying to wake up Mommy to help us get ready for our day. We were also often destructive since we were bored. Now when we wake up we take turns going potty, we get dressed with clothes that are laid out the night before, we make our beds, then we get toys or books and play quietly while we wait for Mommy and Gracie to wake up. This usually gives Mommy a much needed extra half hour of sleep (which is why she loves the plan!) It also teaches us to be responsible and learn how to play quietly, and love our Mommy and sister by taking care of them through letting them get rest.

While Gracie takes her morning nap, we usually get to do some things that are for "older kids". We play with play-dough, play games, watch a movie, or ride our bikes. We are always so good about sharing our toys with Gracie and limiting our play things to "baby proof" items while she is out and about...that it is fun to just have the two of us every once in awhile!

It is still too cold out to ride our bikes (or anything else outside) so we are getting a little stir crazy inside (and so is Mommy!) This week we did get new bike helmets since the original ones were too small....so now we are all ready for warmer weather to hit!

Each day Mommy tries to get some school time in with each of us. For awhile we were having school time together at night or while Gracie slept, but this week Mommy discovered that things are much smoother and better for everyone if she divides and conquers. So now, we each get one-on-one "school time" with Mommy while the other one of us reads independently or plays with Gracie if she is awake. We are so close in age, but at very different stages in our learning....so this helps Ben not get overwhelmed and discouraged, and helps Luke stay motivated and not bored!

We have also become great helpers, and love to do chores. We help Mommy bring in groceries, we set the table for meals, clear our dishes after meals, and our favorite chore is taking the recycle items outside to the bin. Of course we also help clean up toys and books. The biggest way we help Mommy is that we are amazing entertainers for our little sister! We know just how to distract her and are very protective and careful to make sure she doesn't get into anything she is too little for.

We miss Daddy so much when he is at work, but we are so proud of him and we love to spend time with him when he is home. One of our favorite things to play with him is "traffic stop". One of us rides a toy and the other one pulls him over in our "police car". The other day when we were playing this game Luke asked Ben "have you had anything to drink tonight??" and Ben answered "umm....Apple juice??!!":)
We love our Daddy!

Gracie loves to spend time with Daddy too! (Mommy forgot to put this picture in the last post about Gracie!)

After Gracie goes to bed at night we get more one-on-one Mommy and Daddy time. This is when we do lots of reading, or playing games, and then we have a Bible story before bed.

We are getting so big.....can you tell?

A day in the life of Gracie....

Good morning friends! So often we "blog" about the exciting and fun things we do. This blog is dedicated to the ordinary every day events of my life. (Next post will be about my big brothers!)

Mommy and Daddy (and most people who meet me) think that I am the happiest baby on earth! I really do wake up playing and laughing, waiting for Mommy to come get me out of my crib.

I love reading books, or "boots" as I call them. Morning, afternoon and night I love books! Mommy lets me read a book while she changes my diaper in the morning. My favorite books have animals. I can say what sounds a doggie, sheep, and elephant say. I have several books memorized and I "help" Mommy and Daddy read them to me.

After I say good morning to my brothers we go downstairs for breakfast. Before every meal, I always remind my family to pray by folding my hands.

Something new this month....I love to eat with proper tableware. Yes, I refuse to eat things off of my tray anymore, I am growing up and insist on having everything in a bowl or plate with silverware! I want to do EVERYTHING my big brothers do, and if I see that they have something on their plate that I do not, I point and say "this, this". I am still working on eating with the silverware, but I actually do get quite a bit of food in my mouth. Sometimes I cheat and I hold the spoon with one hand, put the food in the other hand and place it on the spoon, then put it in my mouth!

After breakfast is some playtime until my morning nap. I LOVE playing with my big brothers!

Sometimes we line up our cars and pretend we are a train...

sometimes we read books...

and sometime we have a tea party!

After my morning nap I get ready for my day and help Mommy brush my hair.

Of course between naps and meals is more play time. (Sometime we run errands too)

Here I am standing, trying to decide whether to walk or not. I have only taken a few wobbly steps on my own so far....but I am working on it! I love watching how excited my big brothers get when I stand on my own and take a few steps!

I like to play all kinds of things. Some of my favorite toys are any bottles or boxes that have lids. I love to try to put on, or take off lids.

I also like to go shopping. I have my own shopping cart, a purse, and a cell phone for a complete day of shopping.

In a lot of my pictures you will see my bear. I never liked pacifiers...but boy am I attached to my bear. I originally had two, but we lost one somewhere. Mommy and Daddy didn't think it was a big deal until I was sick one day and Mommy had to wash my bear. I usually am pretty happy but after a long bear-less night, Mommy and Daddy made sure that will not happen again, so now I have three. Whenever I see my bear I stop what I am doing to hug it and say "ah ber, ah ber". Mommy says that even when she lays me down for naps or at night time she can hear me talking in my room, hugging my bear and saying "ah ber"

When it is time for a meal, I like to help my brothers clean up. Then I crawl to my chair and wait for Mommy or Daddy to put me up into my highchair. Then of course, I remind everyone that it is time to pray! I also love to help by cleaning my face and hands after I am done eating.

One of my favorite times of the day is bath time. I just love playing in the bath. I have figured out how the drain works, so if Mommy pulls the drain to end bath time.....sometimes I push it back down so I can keep playing!

After bath time, Mommy or Daddy help me get ready for bed. This is my favorite time of day to cuddle. I always fold my hands and remind them to pray with me before bed and say "Nigh, Nigh" to my brothers with hugs and kisses. I sleep from 7 PM to about 7:30 AM. I need lots of rest because as you can see I lead a pretty busy life!
