Today we had the unique opportunity to celebrate American Indian Heritage Celebration day at the NC Museum of History. The kids were thrilled to see some of the things we studied earlier this year come to life.
The loud drums and singing were a bit too much for Caleb and Jacob.
Traditional bead work
Woodworking tools and weapons
Basket weaving
Learning how to write words in Cherokee
Making Sassafras tea bags
Clay work
Picnic lunch while we enjoyed more traditional music and dancing

How fun!!! It is always so great to be able to see things up close after learning about them! Sometime, you'll have to show me a picture of Ben's Cherokee writing! Love you all!
