Papa's visit: Part 1

Warning! This post will not be short! Now you can't say I didn't warn you! We had the immense joy of a visit from my Dad, "Papa," from Arizona this month. The last time Papa visited was almost three years ago, so we were overdo! We took a week off of school, Jeff took off a few days off work, and we just had fun!

Since we were finishing up our study of Ancient Greece in school, we decided to culminate this unit of study with our own version of "Morgan Olympics" while Papa was here to join us.

Our first event was a straw blowing contest.

Next was the ring tug of war.

Ring toss

(and a favorite of all....) the potato put!

Next, we had a water relay.

Afterwards we enjoyed a picnic lunch at the park.

All the kids enjoyed having their Papa read to them

and play games!

We also got to take Papa on his very first strawberry picking adventure!

Complete with strawberry ice cream after all that hard work picking!

Of course, with all of those yummy fresh strawberries, we had to make a strawberry pie, Papa's favorite!

to be continued....

Love the Olympics idea! Maybe we should do that again next time all the cousins are together. Glad you got to spend time with Papa! Love you guys!

So dear...good Papa memories being made! Wish he could come visit us, too...but we will have to be back in the States before that will happen, I'm afraid! Strawberry picking looked like lots of fun!
