This weekend we had the opportunity to get away for a little family R&R! We drove up to Northern Virginia, Shenandoah Valley, for a family vacation. Jeff's parents and brother's family, as well as Jeff's cousins Matt and Cory and their wives Bethany and Jill all joined us for a very fun weekend!

The boys had a blast getting to know some more of their extended family. They also had so much fun playing with their cousins Kaylin, Ian, and Nathan (also known as Nay-Nay since Luke can't pronounce Nathan!)

We all arrived Friday and just had a fun time relaxing, playing games, and catching up with one another. Then on Saturday we drove to an Orchard for an Apple Harvest Festival. Luke and Ben were really afraid of the pumpkins for some odd reason, so we just stuck with apples. We got to pick all of our own apples, and we got to enjoy eating them too!!

Sunday we went to Shenandoah Caverns and got to see the beautiful sites. Luke and Ben both did amazing and were not afraid at all, even when it was pitch black! They loved letting all their new found family take turns holding them! (Which was a nice break for Mommy and Daddy!)

On Sunday afternoon while Grandma and Grandpa watched the boys, Tim, Gretchen, Jeff and I got a chance to go check out the nearby lake. It was beautiful!!! Have I mentioned how much I love the fall??

This weekend Luke and Ben have learned a new word, "pretty". On the way home, we had to drive on Skyline Drive, one of the most scenic beautiful roads in all of America in my opinion! Both of the boys had fallen asleep, but as we drove past a certain scenic overlook Luke woke up and looked out his window and in a groggy voice said "Purty, purty!!!" We stopped and decided to take a picture of the "purty" view!

Love,
Jeff, Mer, Luke and Ben
