Dear Friends and Family-
Just a quick note to tell you that we are home safe and sound. We came home to find our entire hard drive on our computer has died, so we have not had access to a computer since Sat. and we are currently using a computer on Jeff's campus so that people don't start to worry!
The flights were long and miserable, as could be expected. Both Luke and Ben slept for most of the 6+ hour trip to Rome from Addis, but were awake the remaining 10+ from Rome to D.C. One funny story....while trying to fill out customs forms in Ethiopia, both boys were way past bed time and exhausted, so both were non-stop crying. The customs officials pulled us out of line and let us go through the "Diplomat" line!!!! So, Luke and Ben are now officially diplomats! :) God was so good to give us several other families on the same flight that all had older children and were so sweet to help us out at every turn. Each step of the way God has provided people to help us.
Our first night at home was amazing. The boys are doing well and adjusting much better than we thought. Somehow things seem just a bit more doable when you are in your own home and bed. Wed. we take the boys to the doctor, they both are still coughing pretty bad, but their ears didn't seem to bother them on the plane (Praise God!)
Please keep praying that God would gently guide us and give us wisdom as we learn how to parent these two precious gifts. Thank you for all your prayers and love. As soon as we have our own computer situation figured out we will be posting pictures! They are just too precious for words!!!!
Believing Him,
Jeff, Meredith, Luke and Ben
