End of school wrap up May 2017

Our 6th year of homeschooling has officially come to a close! It has been a crazy full year with lots of learning!

During the month of May we finished up our monthly unit studies with a study on ants, diligence, and hard work! I found tons of free printable do-a-dot pattern, letter, and number ant-themed sheets online that the boys had a blast completing!

We also played several rounds of ant, ant, anteater when we needed to get some energy out on rainy days!

While finishing up our study of Rome we studied the eruption of Mt. Vesuvius and made our own exploding volcano!

We also spent lots of time observing ants dig tunnels in their gel habitat on our kitchen counter.

We finished up our study of science in the ancient world with several fun experiments.

Making dental impressions in hard cheese to study our dental formula which was studied by da Vinci!

We had to eat ants on a log of course!

Just a random picture of the "girls" getting haircuts together!

To celebrate another year of school completed, we headed to a local museum of life and sciences with Grandpa and Grandma Morgan. We have not been to this particular museum since Luke and Ben were both two, so we were way overdue! There was so many fun things to see and do!

We had fun watching the farm life:

Butterfly gardens:

Lots of insects:

 Amazing ants:

 Bees:

This is a huge puzzle of a butterfly the kids had fun putting together.

Of course Jacob and Caleb decided the antennae pieces were better suited as pirate swords!

One of our favorite parts was a huge dinosaur exhibit!

The museum also has lemurs, black bears, and brand new red wolf pups!

There is also plenty of places to climb and play!

We didn't even have time to look at all of the indoor exhibits, but the NASA exhibits were a definite favorite!

Random picture of little boys in their favorite matching pajamas!

First tomato from our garden!

Little people fine motor busy work! Threading cheerios onto dry spaghetti stuck in playdough!

On our last day of school last week we finished up early and headed to our pool for a picnic and play lunch!

 Goodbye school. Hello summer!!!!
