Keeping this busy little one entertained while trying to teach is one of my biggest challenges!
Playing with Tupperware is always a fun activity!
Our science study has focused on birds the last few weeks. We have learned to identify and label the different field marks of birds. We have a kid oriented field guide that now sits permanently by our back door so we can try to identify any birds that come into our yard.
One science experiment had us try out two different types of bird seed in two identical feeders to determine which the birds in our yard like best.
So far the answer is neither! We have not seen any birds at our feeders yet....!
Making "Suet" another kind of bird feed, by the time this study is over our backyard will be a regular bird sanctuary!
Outside play time has been crucial to our school time. Time to get all the wiggles out so we can focus. We finally have space for bikes, but the bikes are now all WAY too small! (Hint, Hint Santa!) Daddy took the training wheels off that were still on the bikes since they have not been ridden in quite some time. Within one day both Luke and Ben were riding like pros!
Gracie and Jacob are enjoying learning all about shapes, colors, letters and numbers.
In our Tapestry of Grace studies we have hit a whirlwind of history, covering the middle ages in most of the world.
The boys had an art project to make stained glass windows with watercolors.
Here the boys are designing their own family crest.
Here is our Viking long boat we made to go exploring and raiding!
The highlight of the Middle Ages of course is learning about castles and knights! Since we are a bit short on horses in the Morgan house, we have had to play as foot soldiers instead of knights.
Gracie, our princess is well defended!
Of course, as always we like to read lots of books!
Who knew? An artist that specializes in Lego art!
We were told that this particular piece uses over 11,000 Lego bricks and is worth over $75,000!!!
Outside they had a tent with Legos and Duplo blocks for the kids to make their own sculptures.
We had a fun day exploring one of our family's favorite artistic mediums.....Legos!

I grew up with Grandfather making suet for the birds in the winter and trying to keep the squirrels away!! Gracie looks like a grateful Princess for all the protection! Hooray for backyard bird sanctuaries!!! (In colder weather, it helps to have some water for them, too...for drinking and bathing...it might help attract more!!) Those Lego sculptures were something to behold! Amazing! Can't wait to add some more foot soldiers to the mix in a few weeks so our boys can learn more about protecting damsels in distress! Love you guys!
