It is hard to believe that on his original due date, Caleb has been with our family for two weeks already! He is doing fantastic. Growing well, he has gained back all his birth weight and then some weighing in at 8 pounds 1 oz. He is most awake at night (of course) but in general is pretty decent at sleeping 3 hours at a time.
One prayer request: we got a phone call last week telling us that Caleb's newborn screen had come back positive for a cystic fibrosis gene. If you recall, both Gracie and Jacob also had this gene and had to undergo a sweat chloride test at UNC. Caleb will also have a sweat test at UNC next week. We are praying that he will be just a carrier like his older siblings. (We know that I am a carrier and Jeff is not, which gives our children a 50% chance of being carriers....so far we are three for three. We still have to have the sweat test to rule out any odd gene mutations that would cause the disease rather than just the carrier status if that makes sense.) We are much calmer this time around, but it is still nerve racking to go through the process.
Caleb is such a sweet, sweet little guy. He loves being held by all of his siblings. The number one struggle in our house right now is whose turn it is to hold him! He is spoiled silly by his big brothers and sister!
We can't imagine life without our #5, Caleb. Happy two weeks little man!

He is so dear! And seeing him with his brothers and sister is even more precious. Can't get over watching Jacob as a big brother! He STILL seems like such a little guy! What buddies those two will be! Love and miss you all! Continuing to pray for you!
Cute, cute, cute...and in real life, up close and personal even cuter!! Love being here to love on Caleb, and Jakey, and Gracie, and Ben and Luke. It is precious time to hold and love them. Gotta stock up for when I go home and until next visit. Love them all so much!! Grammy

What a beautiful family you have and those pictures are so very precious. We were at BayLeaf this morning and saw the rose on the altar in celebration of Caleb! Hope to see you there soon!
Love him! Tessa sat and watched the video with me. She even asked to see it a second time. Love you guys! Wish we could hug and love on him.
